Ankh-kheperu-Ra Nefer-neferu-Aten.
Queen Nefertiti (Nefer-neferu-Aten Neferet-Iti) seems to disappear from our story around year 12 of Akhenaten (c. 1352 BCE). Did she die? Fall out of favour? Or… did her position change, along with her public identity?
In this episode, we explore the theory of Nefertiti’s disappearance, and the recent evidence that proved it wrong. Also, we dig into the case of a new King, Ankh-kheperu-Ra Nefer-neferu-Aten, who may be another co-regent for Akhenaten…
A cup made of travertine, produced early in the reign. Bears the cartouches of Aten, Akhenaten (as Amunhotep IV) and Nefertiti in the early, shorter form of her name(Met Museum).
